Due to the self-fusing nature of the tape, it instantly adheres when wrapped around the repair area. It does not stick to the pipe itself, making it usable on most pipes and hoses. Additionally, being made of silicone, it is resistant to deterioration and can be used outdoors. There are examples of it lasting for about 10 years.

It can handle not only water but also air leaks, and its high heat resistance allows it to stop steam as well. By overlapping wraps or using it in combination with other repair materials, even stronger repairs are possible.
